Child Care Assistance Program

The Child Care Assistance program helps you pay a portion of your child care expenses each month. Eligibility is based on income and household size. The Child Care Assistance Program gives you the flexibility to choose a child care center, child care home, or care by a relative or other adult based on your family’s individual needs. And that helps you stay on the job, provide care for your children and save money.

Important information for Parents seeking Childcare Benefits

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services implemented a new Electronic Child Care System called Ohio ECC. You will be in charge of reporting your child's attendance using this swipe card with your child care provider's card reading device. If you are eligible for childcare benefits and have not received your swipe card, please contact the Ohio ECC Caretaker Helpline at 1-888-796-4322 to request a replacement card.

To activate your card, change your pin number, report a lost, stolen or damaged card and to request a replacement card, you must contact the Ohio ECC Caretaker Helpline at 1-888-796-4322.
